Tracy Vawter, LICSW

Tracy began her mental health training with a Bachelor of Arts from Oregon State University. She later returned to graduate school to earn the Master of Social Work at the University of Washington. In Oregon, Tracy coordinated Crisis Services at the OSU Counseling Center where she was also a therapist and educator in mental health crises and trauma.

Tracy brings a wealth of experience within the mental health professions to her work at North Olympic Healthcare Network, including years spent in community mental health where she provided therapy, crisis intervention, and behavioral health services for medical teams. Tracy has also worked as a medical social worker in the home health and hospice fields.

Tracy enjoys working with adults across the lifespan, utilizing a trauma-informed approach with all of her clients. Her work is also influenced by a social justice and feminist theory approach to support and educate clients toward creating a life they desire. Tracy understands that clients are the experts on themselves and works with them to elicit that expertise. She utilizes approaches such as mindfulness, self compassion, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy—an action-oriented approach to therapy that combines behavior therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to empower people for acceptance and change.

In her free time, Tracy enjoys playing the folk harp, practicing qigong, and hiking.
