About Whitney Waters, PA-C

Whitney was born and raised in Reno, Nevada, and moved to Redmond, Washington, when she was 15 years old. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Washington State University and her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Arcadia University.

After graduating from Washington State University, Whitney worked full-time as a phlebotomist at a women’s health clinic in Bellevue, Washington, where she gained valuable clinical experience and completed her patient care hours in preparation for Physician Assistant (PA) school. As a new graduate physician assistant, she’s excited to begin the career she’s been dreaming of since she was a young girl.

Everything in medicine interests Whitney. First and foremost, she loves building relationships with her patients. Individual health can be a very vulnerable thing to discuss with a stranger, so Whitney strives to bring an open, comforting, and non-judgmental attitude into every room. She also has a deep passion for mental health, pediatric care, and preventive healthcare.

As a transplant to Port Angeles, she’s especially excited to explore the Olympic Peninsula and everything the area has to offer. She and her fiancé, Josh, recently moved to Port Angeles with their dog, Kota, and they are looking forward to spending their free time outdoors, hiking, exploring new places, and visiting farmers markets. Neither of them has lived in a smaller community, so they are excited to discover all the fun and exciting things that will help transform them into locals.

Whitney is very excited to begin her journey as a PA with NOHN. Working within an FQHC has been a goal of hers since graduating from PA school, and she feels very passionate about increasing access to care for patients. She also wants patients and potential patients to know that creating a welcoming environment is at the forefront of how she hopes to practice as a clinician. She wants her patients to feel comfortable being open and honest with her, knowing that they will always be treated with respect, compassion, and without judgment.
