NOHN Receives Recognition for Healthcare Quality

North Olympic Healthcare Network (NOHN) has been awarded recognition by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) program at its Downtown Health Center for the 11th consecutive year and its Expanded Services Building for the fourth consecutive year. NCQA is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health care quality.

“Eleven consecutive years of PCMH recognition is not an accident. It takes discipline, collaboration, and people who genuinely care about doing right by their patients,” said CEO Terri Sabella, PhD, JD, RN-BSN, CPHQ. “I was proud to join the NOHN team, and this recognition reflects exactly why. I am grateful to be part of an organization that holds itself to this standard, and I cannot wait to see what we build from here.”

The NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home standards emphasize the use of systematic, patient-centered, coordinated care that supports access, communication, and patient involvement. Research shows that NCQA-recognized medical homes deliver higher quality care and improve the patient experience.

“NOHN is committed to ongoing quality measurement and improvement, and we’re proud to achieve PCMH status once again,” said Quality Director Stacie Neff. “Our leadership, providers, and staff work together to maintain the highest quality standards in support of our mission as a community health center.”

The NCQA PCMH program reflects the input of the American College of Physicians (ACP), American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), American Osteopathic Association (AOA), and others. It was developed to assess whether clinician practices are functioning as medical homes and to recognize them for these efforts.

“Primary care is the backbone of our healthcare system, and NCQA’s Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition program has helped strengthen that foundation by keeping patients at the center of high-quality care,” said Dr. Vivek Garg, President and CEO of NCQA. “Recognition demonstrates that NOHN has the tools, systems, and resources to deliver well-coordinated, data-driven care that meets patients where they are and drives better outcomes.”
