Second-Year Resident Physicians Join NOHN

North Olympic Healthcare Network (NOHN) welcomes second-year residents Taylor Caldwell, MD, Chelsea Denney, MD, and Melanie Langa, MD to its team of providers. Dr. Caldwell grew up in rural western Wisconsin and received her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine. Dr. Denney hails from Goldendale, Wash. and earned her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine. Dr. Langa grew up on Anishinaabe land in Ann Arbor, Mich. and received her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine.

The three resident physicians join NOHN after completing their first year of residency at Swedish Cherry Hill Family Medicine Residency in Seattle. Rural Training Track (RTT) residents like Caldwell, Denney and Langa receive their first year of training at Swedish Cherry Hill, and their second and third years of training in Port Angeles, continuing inpatient training at Olympic Medical Center, and medical specialty rotations with Olympic Medical Physicians. NOHN provides the resident physicians their home continuity ambulatory care clinic.

Resident physicians provide a full spectrum of care – from childbirth to chronic conditions – and are supervised by board-certified physicians at NOHN. The resident and the supervising physician conduct a thorough review of each patient’s health concerns.

“We’re excited to welcome Drs. Caldwell, Denney and Langa as our seventh cohort of residents,” said Rob Epstein, MD, director of medical education at NOHN. “We receive about 500 applications each year for the program and conduct about 40 interviews, but we can only pick three. These three are excellent physicians who are eager to serve our rural community.”

To establish care with Drs. Caldwell, Denney or Langa, please text or call (360) 452-7891. For more information about NOHN’s Rural Training Track program, contact Program Director Rob Epstein, MD, at repstein@nohn-pa.org.
