About Raphael Mprah, PMHNP-BC

Raphael earned his bachelor’s degree from Grand Canyon University at Phoenix, Arizona, and his Master’s of Science in Nursing from Walden University. He has experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings, with expertise in nurse training and improving patient access to mental health care. His clinical interests include improving communication in the clinical settings, increasing access to psychiatry care, and educating fellow nurse practitioners in mental health care.

As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), Raphael assesses and treats adults and young adults with all mental health conditions like depression, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD), psychotic disorders, personality disorders, and substance abuse disorders. He brings empathy, an easygoing communication style, and great sense of humor, making it easy for him to talk to patients and family members.

Although Raphael can prescribe medication as a viable option, he has been very successful in taking a holistic approach, focusing on listening to and educating his patients then supplementing the treatment with medication when necessary.
