About Samone Blunk, MD

Dr. Blunk grew up in Portland, OR. She received her undergraduate degree from Iona University in New Rochelle, NY, and earned her medical degree at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at Fort Liberty, NC.

After residency, Dr. Blunk served with the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade at Fort Campbell, KY, as a flight surgeon, from 2019 – 2022. In July 2022, she moved to Joint Base Lewis McChord in Tacoma, WA, where she was full-time faculty in the Family Medicine Residency Program at Madigan Army Medical Center. In January 2024, she left the US Army and moved to West Yellowstone, MT, where she practiced in a small rural clinic.

She is passionate about women’s health and trauma-focused care. She also has a passion for working with patients that have felt ignored or brushed aside by the medical community. Having served in the US Army for 7 years and being married to a Coast Guard pilot, she is also passionate about veterans’ health.

Outside of work, Dr. Blunk loves the outdoors and enjoys family hikes and bike rides.

She looks forward to collaborating with patients on their health.
