Claire was born and raised in southern Minnesota. She first moved to the north Cascades after college to explore the mountains. In the years since, she’s lived in several different parts of Washington and worked for years as a baker and a cook at several retreat centers before beginning her career in healthcare. Claire returned to school at the University of Washington, where she completed her undergraduate nursing degree and worked as an oncology and bone marrow transplant nurse for several years. She also completed her graduate training as a family nurse practitioner at the University of Washington.
Claire is passionate about providing whole-person primary care and particularly enjoys working with adolescents and young adults as they begin to take ownership of their own healthcare, building lifelong habits and health practices.
In her free time, she loves to spend time hiking and skiing in the mountains and is excited to have the Olympics in her backyard. When she’s not outside, she is often going for a swim, browsing the library or local bookstores for her next read, or baking treats for her family and friends.
