19 May Retirement Celebration for CEO Michael Maxwell, MD
Please join us at Field Arts & Events Hall, 201 W. Front Street, Port Angeles, on Tuesday, May 26 at 5:00pm for a retirement celebration honoring CEO Michael Maxwell, MD for his 35 years of medical excellence and dedicated leadership.
Maxwell was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. He received his medical degree with honors from the University of Washington School of Medicine and completed a family medicine residency through the University of Washington in Spokane. He began his career in 1991 as a partner in Family Medicine of Port Angeles (FMPA). When he stepped away from clinical practice in 2021, he had served as the primary care physician (PCP) for more than 2,500 patients, practiced high-risk OB for 25 years, and delivered nearly 1,000 babies.
Maxwell was instrumental in FMPA’s transformation to a community health center model in 2016 and was selected as Chief Executive Officer for the newly renamed North Olympic Healthcare Network (NOHN) shortly thereafter. Under Maxwell’s leadership, NOHN has opened three additional sites, allowing it to expand access to primary care, behavioral health, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy services, and a mobile health clinic.
Dr. Maxwell has had a profound impact on our organization and community. We hope you will join us as we honor his remarkable career and wish him all the best in this next chapter.
